With Manchester City all but wrapping up the Premier League title, our attention now turns to the Top 4. Similar to recent years, this will probably be the only race teams are fighting for in the final weeks of the season.
2020-21 Premier League Top 4 Odds
This year is looking extra spicy with 8 clubs in a position to take 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. If Everton, Aston Villa, and Tottenham win their games in hand, we would see 2nd to 9th separated by 7 points with 14 games left.
Here are their odds of qualifying for the Champions League:
- Manchester United -400
- Liverpool – 225
- Chelsea -162
- Leicester City -167
- Tottenham +500
- West Ham +700
- Aston Villa +1000
- Everton +1200
2020-21 Premier League Top 4 Betting Advice
I’ll start by saying I would be lying if I told you I definitely knew who was going to make it. This season has been crazier than most, with all of these sides suffering from inconsistency at some point. We have to take into consideration Manchester United, Leicester City, Tottenham, Liverpool, and Chelsea’s European fixtures, which could impact their league form.
At -400, there is no value in Manchester United unless you’re laying down a large stack of Benjamin’s. Even then, I wouldn’t be confident as Paul Pogba’s injury looks to have had a serious impact on their ability to break teams down. Liverpool -225 isn’t great value either. Their 2-0 away victory over RB Leipzig probably means they have at least 3 more European fixtures left this season.
I think Chelsea represents the best value at -162 with the amount of quality and depth in their squad. Thomas Tuchel, AKA MC Thomas Too Cool (Credit to the Football Ramble), is working wonders. So much so that even everyone’s favorite calamity goalkeeper Kepa is playing well, picking up clean sheets. Leicester is similar odds to Chelsea at -167. I would recommend putting that money on The Blues.
I’m not too fond of Tottenham, even at +500. The goals have dried up with 3 in their last 5 games, and I think José Mourinho will be prioritizing a trophy over everything else. I would avoid Everton at +1200. The Toffees has only picked up 16 points in their last 15 games, and I highly doubt we will see another 7 game winning streak from them this season. I agree with Sports Books that Aston Villa +1000 are unlikely and will fall short.
I do like West Ham at +700 and feel they’re worth backing with some small change. All of the momentum is with David Moyes’ side right now, and they have no other competitions to distract them. January signing Jesse Lingard looks to be The Hammers only weakness is they don’t have a recognized striker, and Michail Antonio has missed 9 games so far through injury.
