The Champions League quarterfinals are almost upon us. All matches are knock-out. They take place from August 12th – 15th. In the US, you can watch them on CBS Sports / all access.
Some things have changed. Holders Liverpool will not be in it. Juventus won’t be involved as well, having sacked their manager Maurizio Sarri after failing to advance.
However, some things never change. Manchester City are back to their normal ways of drawing the easiest opponent possible in Lyon. They probably won’t keep them from bottling again though.
Here’s a look at the lines.

Odds & Ends
- The biggest underdogs are Lyon (understandably) and Barcelona (not as much). In a knockout format with high-variance, having the best soccer player of all time makes a difference. Yes, Bayern Munich are a better team than Barca. But when you have Lionel Messi, +230 is a great price.
- After the restart, Atalanta was among the best teams in the world. PSG never had a restart. And they’re likely without Mbappe. The +210 price on Atalanta is very interesting, as well as any reasonable over on goal pricing (+300 on over 4.5 in particular).
- In a knockout format against a team known for bottling in the UCL, +900 on Lyon is worth a fun flier.
- Surprised that Atleti aren’t bigger favorites? So are we! Stay away from this one. Feels a little off.
