The Group of Death award: Group A
Because Pots 2 and 3 were so weak this year, there’s no obvious candidate. However, holder Bayern were done no favors by drawing Atelti, Salzburg, and Lokomotiv.
We’d say Group H is a strong contender too, but that’s giving Man U too much credit.
The Honorary “Manchester City has the easiest draw again” award: Manchester City
Seriously. Enough with this shit. City get Porto, Olympiakos, and Marseille.
The “If this group fell in the woods and nobody hears it, does it make a sound?” award: Group E
Already forgot who was in this one.
The “Overblown Storyline” Award: Ronaldo vs Messi
We’ll hear an awful lot about how this may be the last time these two greats play each other. It’s already feeling old.
The “Most Exciting Group” award: Group H
It’s not the group of death. But goals should be aplenty here.
