Written By Alex Blowers on November 24, 2021
Matchday 13 in the Bundesliga brings us two massive fixtures. Saturday we have VfL Wolfsburg against Borussia Dortmund and Sunday it’s RB Leipzig taking on Bayer Leverkusen. All four clubs play in Europe this week to keep an eye on how they perform. If you’re unsure about what markets to pick, you can read on to see my analysis for Matchday 13’s games and check out our Bundesliga Betting Guide.

BUNDESLIGA MATCHDAY 12 ROUNDUP

FC AUGSBURG STUN BAYERN MUNICH

FC Augsburg produced one of the shocks of the season, beating Bayern Munich. They raced to a 2-0 lead before Robert Lewandowski halved the deficit on 38 minutes. I and many others were more surprised they managed to hold on and keep Bayern out in the second half to win 2-1.

Sportsbooks had the relegation candidates priced at +1200 to get the win. I take my hat off to those who were brave enough to back Fuggerstädter.

BUNDESLIGA BETTING ANALYSIS AND TIPS

  • I am a big fan of Borussia Mönchengladbach‘s squad. Florian Neuhaus, Marcus Thuram, Yann Sommer, and Joseph Scally are the standout players, and with all respect to Die Fohlen, they will move to bigger clubs in the future. They face an FC Cologne side who started the season brilliantly but have faded in recent weeks. The Billy Goats haven’t won in five Bundesliga games drawing three and losing two with 12 goals conceded. I recommend jumping on Gladbach’s Moneyline at +135.
  • I think there’s value in FC Augsburg’s Moneyline at +270. They’re coming off a 2-1 win against Bayern Munich and took care of VfB Stuttgart comfortably in Matchday 10 with a 4-1 win. Their opponent Hertha Berlin have been Jekyll and Hyde with their form all season (LLLWWLLWWLDL), and there’s a good chance Pál Dárdai‘s side will come up short again on Saturday.
  • Back Mainz 05 at +135 to get the three points in Friday night’s fixture. Stuttgart and Pellegrino Matarazzo are having a tough second season and have won once in their last nine games.
  • SC Freiburg are another side with excellent value on the Moneyline at +125. Christian Streich’s side were unbeaten until they faced Bayern in Matchday 11 and are sitting in 3rd. Their opponent VfL Bochum have improved in recent weeks but are still down in 13th and in the relegation battle. Back Freiburg to return to winning ways.
  • Greuther Fürth are looking like this season’s FC Schalke averaging 2.75 goals conceded per game (33 goals in 12 games). I think you could back every one of their opponents from now till the end of the season at -1.5 Goals, and you’ll finish in profit. Start here with TSG Hoffenheim, who are available at a very attractive price of +185.
  • RB Leipzig vs. Bayer Leverkusen will be a great match to watch, but I recommend staying away. You don’t know what you’re going to get from Leipzig, who beat Dortmund in Matchday 11 but lost to a Hoffenheim side, missing key players in Matchday 12.
