Bundesliga clubs in Germany resumed training this week.
Several clubs returned to small group sessions. Among them are Borussia Dortmund (who began a week ago in groups of 2) and Bayern Munich.
In a statement, Bayern Munich said:
“The FC Bayern Munich first team will return to training at Sabener Strasse in small groups from Monday, April 6. This will be done in coordination with government policy and the relevant authorities. It goes without saying that all hygiene regulations will be strictly observed.”
In total, 15 of the 18 Bundesliga clubs have resumed training. Werder Bremen, Borussia Monchengladbach and Freiburg have not as of yet.
Matches to resume in May?
With clubs back in limited training, the next question is: when will play resume?
Matches have been suspended since March 13. That halting of play stretches until the end of April. League officials are hoping to resume matches in May and complete their season.
UEFA this week urged that all domestic leagues work towards completing their seasons if it is deemed safe by local governments to do so.
