I turned a small profit of 0.326 Units in Matchday 09 with 2 of my 4 bets hitting. Bayern Munich went 1-0 down after 20 minutes but went ahead on the stroke of halftime. Robert Lewandowski scored a 22 yard rocket for his 12th of the season in the 46th minute.

Bayern went into the break 2-1 up & saw out the game 3-1. It was a hard fought victory for Die Roten & Thomas Müller summed up the win perfectly with his “You have to show it on a windy night in Stoke” analogy in the post match interview.
Another weekend profiting from the Bundesliga’s worst side Schalke 04. Florian Neuhaus put another top performance in dominating the center of the pitch with a goal & an assist. The win moves Borussia Mönchengladbach to within 3 points of the Champions League spots.
The one positive for Die Knappen was the performance of 19 year old American striker Matthew Hoppe. With Goncalo Paciencia, Amine Harit, Rabbi Matondo, Vedad Ibisevic & Ahmed Kutucu all unavailable Hoppe was invited to train with the first team earlier in the week. He impressed Michael Baum enough to earn his Bundesliga debut & I think he will be featuring a lot more in the coming weeks.
Ihlas Bebou equalized for Hoffenehim in the 60th minute & they were piling the pressure on Mainz 05 till the 80th minute. Karim Onisiwo broke away & in my opinion, Dennis Geiger made a standard, yellow card, tactical foul to prevent the counter. Referee Sascha Stegemann got this all wrong & produced a red card that ended Hoffenheim’s hopes of finding the winner.
Finally, FC Augsburg faltered at home with a 1-1 draw to SC Freiburg. Heiko Herrlich’s side had 59% of the ball but failed to turn their dominance into a win. They were lucky to get a point after Ruben Vargas’s equalizer benefited from a deflection.

BAYERN MUNICH VS RB LEIPZIG
League leaders Bayern welcome second place RB Leipzig to the Allianz Arena for Matchday 10’s biggest fixture. Both sides played Champions League fixtures midweek but have prepared very differently for this top of the table clash.
Hansi Flick had the luxury of resting the majority of his first choice eleven for their trip to Atlético Madrid. His second string side done him proud to earn a 1-1 draw with teenagers Jamal Musiala & Bright Arrey-Mbi impressing.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side traveled to Turkey in a must win game against Basaksehir. The young coach selected his first choice eleven & it was a thrilling, end to end, crazy game of football. Summer signing Alexander Sørloth scored the winner in the 92nd minute as they came out on top 4-3. It was the Norwegian internationals first for the club & it will give his confidence a massive boost.
Leipzig will be tired after their 2000 mile round trip to Istanbul, one less day of rest & the intensity of the game. They face Manchester United on Tuesday night in a must win game to qualify for the Knockout Stages & Nagelsmann will rotate his squad.
With Bayern’s experience, squad depth, home advantage & best players rested I’m backing them to make a statement.
Prediction – 2 Units: Bayern Munich -2.5 Goals +270
SCHALKE 04 VS BAYER LEVERKUSEN
At the start of every week, I tell myself not to bet against Schalke & write about other teams but it’s impossible. I have featured Die Knappen every Matchday & seven of those nines bets have cashed. They have turned into my Golden Goose & the odds the bookmakers are offering is ridiculous.
Schalke are now 25 games without a win in the Bundesliga & 6 away from equaling the record of 31 held by Tasmania Berlin. They earned that back in 1965-66 & are surprisingly proud of the achievement. Almir Nuric, their technical director said “We don’t want to lose that record … It has been ours for decades now. It belongs to Tasmania’s identity.”
Schalke have put up very little resistance against Germany’s top clubs with 19 goals conceded against Bayern, Borussia Dortmund, Leipzig & Gladbach. Bayer Leverkusen are unbeaten & will win this game comfortably by 2 or 3 goals.
Prediction – 2 Units: Bayer Leverkusen -1.5 Goals +143
FC KÖLN VS VFL WOLFSBURG
Wolfsburg are unbeaten, up to 5th & have won four of their last five scoring 12 & conceding 6. Oliver Glasner’s side are in a rich vein of form that is mirrored by their star striker Wout Weghorst who has scored in five of those six games.
FC Köln are coming off their first win of the season with an unbelievable 2-1 away victory over Dortmund. The Billy Goats did it by capitalizing on BVB’s weakness at set-pieces, very much like FC Augsburg did in Matchday 02.
Köln’s victory ended a 18 game streak without a win in the Bundesliga. They were fortuitous to get the 3 points with Erling Haaland missing a golden opportunity in the dying seconds.
Wolfsburg are firing on all cylinders right now & they’ll be leaving the RheinEnergieStadion with all 3 points.
Prediction – 2 Units: VFL Wolfsburg Money Line +110
