Bundesliga Matchday 12 Betting Tips

Posted By Alex Blowers on December 15, 2020

I lost 5 Units in Matchday 11 with none of my 3 bets cashing. It was the first round this season I haven’t recommended at least one winning bet.

I had Friday nights game between VFL Wolfsburg & Eintracht Frankfurt down for a draw. It was a pretty even contest with the scores locked at 1-1 after both sides converted penalties. In the 88th minute, Xaver Schlager slipped in Wout Weghorst who is in blistering form right now. He slotted in the winner to complete his brace & move himself up to third in the goal scoring charts with 9.

I thought we would see some Champions League hangover & I was right. Three of the four sides drew or lost but I picked to bet against the one side that won. RB Leipzig made it nine wins out of nine home games this season. The Red Bull Arena is becoming a fortress for Julian Nagelsmann’s side & if they keep this form up, they can challenge Bayern Munich for the title.

The highlight of the game was Dani Olmo’s goal on the 41st minute. He absolutely done Christian Groß & slotted into the corner.

FC Union Berlin started strong with Taiwo Awoniyi exposing Bayern’s high line seconds into the game. Manaul Neuer pulled off an awesome save but, Grischa Prömel scored from the resulting corner to put the home side 1-0 up.

Robert Lewandowski equalized midway through the second half & everyone thought they would go on to win it. Leroy Sané thought he had scored the winner when he connected well with Kingsley Coman’s cross. Andreas Luthe reacted brilliantly to push it out for a corner to earn Union a well deserved point.

Alphonso Davies is back from injury but it’s obvious the player Hansi Flick needs is Joshua Kimmich. Since he injured his knee against Borussia Dortmund they have drawn three of the last four in the Bundesliga. Bayer Leverkusen have knocked them off the top of the table bit it’s hardly a crisis.

Die Roten aren’t clicking at the moment & I’m going to pass on Bayern Halftime / Fulltime for a while.

André Silva is a doubt for this game after picking up a muscle strain in the 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund. He was unavailable for Friday’s loss to Wolfsburg & Frankfurt really missed him in the final third. The Portuguese international is their top goalscorer & the integral part of their front three alongside Bas Dost & Daichi Kamada.

Recently, Gladbach have struggled in the Bundesliga with 1 win, 3 draws & a loss in their last five games. They have prioritized progression to the Knockout Stages of the Champions League & best performances in recent weeks have come in Europe. Florian Neauhaus is suspended but Marcus Thuram, Alassane Pléa, Christoph Kramer, Stefan Lainer & Lars Stindl should return to the starting lineup after resting on the bench at the weekend.

Marco Rose’s side are in the rhythm of playing their best football midweek. With André Silva struggling & this game taking place on a Tuesday, I’m backing Gladbach get the 3 points here.

Prediction – 2 Units: Borussia Mönchengladbach Money Line +143

Peter Bosz has done a fantastic job to get Bayer Leverkusen to the top of the Bundesliga. In the summer they sold their best two attacking players Kai Havertz & Kevin Volland. They did bring in Patrick Schick to lead the line & he is starting to find his feet.

It’s Leon Bailey who has stole the show in recent weeks. His brace in Sunday’s 4-1 win over Hoffenheim puts him at 9 goals & 2 assists in his last nine games. He definitely meant his first goal & it’s a thing of absolute beauty. We’ve seen some amazing goals this season & this one will be on the shortlist for Goal of the Season.

FC Köln are unbeaten in their last three with two wins & a draw. The run started with a 2-1 win away to Dortmund, draw at home to Wolfsburg & another away win to Mainz 05 with ten men. The player sent off was Ondrej Duda & he will be suspended for this game.

That should pave the way for summer signing Sebastian Andersson to return to the starting lineup. The Swede has played no part in their recent good form & is a classic target man who relies on service from others. The Billy Goats will have to completely change their playing style to accommodate him.

Everything’s going right for Leverkusen & they’ll win this one comfortably.

Prediction – 1 Unit: Bayer Leverkusen -1.5 Goals +175
