Bundesliga Matchday 13 Betting Tips

Congratulations to Robert Lewandowski for winning The Best FIFA’s Men’s Player. 55 goals in 47 games is an amazing feat as he helped Bayern Munich win everything possible:

  • Champions League
  • Bundesliga
  • UEFA Super Cup
  • DFL-Super Cup

I still think it’s an absolute travesty that the Ballon d’Or was cancelled. France Football’s reason was the “lack of a sufficiently level playing field” caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The awarding of the prize would be “not worthy” of the trophy’s history.

“We did not want to put an indelible asterisk on the prize list as ‘a trophy won in exceptional circumstances due to the health crisis of Covid-19. Protecting the credibility and legitimacy of such a prize also means guaranteeing its irreproachability over time.”

In recent years it has become a popularity contest between Lionel Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo. If you truly cared about the credibility & legitimacy we wouldn’t have seen Frank Ribéry, Manuel Neuer, Antoine Griezmann & Virgil van Dijk all being short changed.

Lewandowski has been robbed & I’ll make the point again that we should be celebrating what players & teams have achieved in spite of COVID.

Matchday 12 resulted in a small loss of 0.25 Units with 1 of my 2 bets hitting.

Marco Rose’s side took the lead & then capitulated in a crazy 11 minute spell. André Silva scored a brace & Aymen Barkok danced through Borussia Mönchengladbach’s defense to put them 3-1 up with 32 minutes on the clock. Eintracht Frankfurt defended their lead in the second half & looked good for the the win until David Abraham was sent off on the 81st minute.

Gladbach rallied & made the most of their one man advantage. Club captain Lars Stindl completed his hat-trick to rescue a point in stoppage time. This game was a thrilling encounter, but, the draw wasn’t the bet I backed.

Bayer Leverkusen cruised to a 4-0 win over FC Köln for my -1.5 goals bet to cash. Everything’s going right for Peter Bosz’s side who are sitting top of the Bundesliga right now. They have got to the summit in style, scoring some incredible goals over the last few weeks.

You can add Mitchell Weiser’s opener to the list. He connected beautifully with Sebastiaan Bornauw’s clearance to smash past Timo Horn.

The fixture schedule has worked out perfectly. The winner of this game will go into the winter break top of the Bundesliga & it should be a fascinating game.

Leverkusen are scoring freely & remain the only unbeaten side in the league. They have won 10 of their last 11 games in all competitions with 36 goals scored & 12 conceded. They are one of Europe’s in form sides, but, a young one with an average starting eleven age of around 25.

Bayern aren’t playing their best football at the moment but are still finding a way to win. VFL Wolfsburg took the lead after 5 minutes & Hansi Flick’s side managed just 2 shots on target. Both of those were from Lewandowski & his brace earned them a 2-1 win to keep pace with Leverkusen.

Bayern have already slayed one unbeaten side this week & I think their experience will end Leverkusen’s run.

Prediction – 2 Units: Bayern Munich Money Line -120

2020 has been a brilliant year for RB Leipzig. They reached the semi-finals of the Champions League back in August, qualified from the group of death in this years competition & are a serious contender for the Bundesliga title this season. They have just confirmed the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai, one of Europe’s hottest talents.

The foundations of Leipzig’s success this season, has been built on their excellent home form. Julian Nagelsmann has led his side to nine wins out of nine at The Red Bull Arena. I can’t see The Billy Goats putting up much resistance to end that run. I’m backing Leipzig to round of the year in style with a convincing win.

Prediction – 2 Units: RB Leipzig -2.5 Goals +220

It’s very rare you see odds this good for Germany’s two biggest clubs. I’ve stated my case for Bayern above & Dortmund have been released from Lucien Favre’s shackles. The players seem relieved & I think we’ll see the “new manager bounce” in this game with Edin Terzić at the helm.

Prediction – 2 Units: Bayern Munich + Borussia Dortmund Money Line Parlay +218
