I backed the wrong teams to win in Matchday 15.
Bayern Munich bossed this game in the opening stages. Robert Lewandowski scored his 20th of the season from the spot after Florian Neuhaus made a rash handball in the box. Leon Goretzka smashed the ball in at the near post to put Die Roten 2-0 after 26 minutes.
Borussia Mönchengladbach didn’t crumble & stuck to their game plan. Marco Rose’s side pressed in the midfield & transitioned quickly when they won the ball to breach Bayern’s high line. Jonas Hofmann broke through twice – thanks to Niklas Süle’s attempts to play offside – & slotted past Manuel Neuer with ease to tie the game up 2-2.
Minutes into the second half, Süle made another costly mistake under-hitting a pass to Benjamin Pavard. Hofmann pounced on the mistake, played a one-two with Breel Embola & fed Neuhaus on the edge of the box, who curled the ball into the top corner.
It was an amazing comeback from Gladbach & Hansi Flick’s side couldn’t recover from the shock.
Five goals and one priceless comeback win 😱

This scoreline flattered Borussia Dortmund. RB Leipzig controlled the first half & prevented BVB from registering a single attempt on goal. Whatever Edin Terzić said at halftime inspired Dortmund to a great second-half performance.
Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland & Marco Reus were outstanding after halftime & combined superbly to fire Dortmund 3-0 up. It was another example of them relying on individual brilliance to score goals rather than breaking sides down or playing with a specific style/gameplan. This will only get this young talented squad so far & they need a manager who will give them identity.
This result will be tough for Julian Nagelsmann’s side to take & it ends their unbeaten record at the Red Bull Arena. The only positive was Alexander Sørloth opening his Bundesliga account with a late consolation goal.
Dortmund exploded into life in the second half and scored three spectacular goals ⚽⚽⚽

EINTRACHT FRANKFURT VS FC SCHALKE O4
André Silva has been in blistering form this season, scoring 11 goals. His strike partner Bas Dost has been sold to Club Brugge for $4.4 million. That deal has paved the way for Luka Jović to return on loan. The Serbian international scored 27 goals & provided 7 assists for Frankfurt back in 2018/19. That form didn’t follow him to Real Madrid with 2 goals & 1 assist in 18 months.
This is a great move for Jović, who needs to escape his Santiago Bernabéu nightmare & get his career back on track. He will be welcomed back into the Frankfurt dressing room with open arms & shown some much-needed love & appreciation.
Luka Jovic is set to come back to Eintracht Frankfurt from Real Madrid on loan until the end of the season, as per @jfelixdiaz! He’s been offered also to Manchester United months ago but they turned down the chance. Luka is now ‘excited’ for the comeback. ⚪️ #transfers

FC Schalke finally won & will be relieved to break their 30 game unbeaten streak without a win. Christian Groß may have found the solution to their goalscoring problems in Amine Harit & American Matthew Hoppe’s partnership. There’s still a lot of work to do & their survival will depend on beating the sides around them.
Frankfurt is coming off a 4-1 loss to 10 men Leverkusen in the DFB-Pokal. Club Captain & CB David Abraham will be retiring after this game & heading back to Argentina. They will miss his leadership & it doesn’t look like they have a replacement lined up.
Frankfurt has had defensive issues, only managing to keep two clean sheets this season. They will say goodbye to Abraham & welcome Jović with a victory.
Prediction – 2 Units: Parlay Both Teams To Score YES & Eintracht Frankfurt Money Line +175
FC UNION BERLIN VS BAYER LEVERKUSEN
FC Union Berlin is unbeaten in their last 5 games & that run includes games against Bayern, Dortmund, VFL Wolfsburg & VFB Stuttgart. Qualifying for Europe is a real possibility for Urs Fischer’s side. It would be a massive achievement from a side that were touted as strong relegation candidates. Star playmaker Max Kruse should be back in 3/4 weeks as he recovers from a torn muscle fiber.
Bayer Leverkusen faltered after Bayern ended their unbeaten run. Lewandowski’s 93rd-minute winner rocked their confidence & they followed up with a loss to Eintracht Frankfurt & a draw with Werder Bremen. They are back to winning ways after beating Frankfurt 4-1 in the DFB-Pokal & will be hoping they can go one step further this season after losing last year’s final.
Peter Bosz has so much young attacking quality at his disposal. Leon Bailey, Patrick Schick, Moussa Diaby, Florian Wirtz & Nadiem Amari have all scored this season & are 24-years-old or younger. Timothy Fosu-Mensah has flown to Germany to finalize his move. They have agreed a $2.45 million deal with Manchester United & the former Ajax youth player will prove to be a great addition.
