Bundesliga Matchday 20 Betting Tips

Matchday 19 resulted in a small loss of 0.3 Units after 2 of my 5 bets hit.

Hit me up on Twitter @RegistaPicks with your thoughts, who you support, and picks for the week.

I had a feeling FC Schalke 04 would get something from this game, and my gut didn’t let me down. They dominated the first half with 65% possession and were rewarded on 38 minutes. Werder Bremen failed to mark Amine Harit, who cut the ball back to Omar Mascarell, who sidefooted into the back of the net.

As we so often see, it was a different story in the second half. Werder Bremen dominated with 65% possession and equalized with a similar goal. Milot Rashica laid the ball back to Kevin Möhwald, who calmly slotted into the bottom corner. Schalke is now 9 points from safety, and Shkodran Mustafi has joined the cause in place of Ozan Kabak, who moved to Liverpool on loan.

I rate Matthew Hoppe and think he can become a 15 goal a season striker. The young American had a glorious chance to open the scoring on 3 minutes after capitalizing on a poor back pass. He rounded Jirí Pavlenka but couldn’t get his shot on target as the angle narrowed. That was his only chance of the game, and my bet for him to score anytime +295 & score a brace or more +2200 failed to hit.

I knew Bayern Munich would be up for this game, and they didn’t disappoint.

I backed them to win both halves, and this ended up cashing easily. Die Roten came out on top in the first-half 2-1 with Jérôme Boateng and Thomas Müller getting on the scoresheet. Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry scored after the break to win the second half 2-0.

I had these two sides scoring and Over 2.5 Goals. Both failed to bring their shooting boots with only 5 shots on target between them out of a combined 24 attempts. Christopher Nkunku got the only goal of the game after reacting fastest to his blocked shot. Bayer Leverkusen’s players swarmed to the ball but failed to clear it. The Frenchman set himself up to smash the ball on the half volley past Lukáš Hrádecky.

This win keeps RP Leipzig in second and 7 points behind Bayern. All Julian Nagelsmann’s side can do is continue winning games and hope the leaders slip up.

-1.5 Goals 2 Game Parlay

Bayern and Hertha Berlin played out one of the games of the season back in October. Hertha equalized in the 88th minute and looked like they were going to earn a hard-fought point. Maximilian Mittelstädt panicked in added time to give away a penalty. Lewandowski stepped up to score the winner and his fourth of the game to round off one of his best performances.

I tipped Hertha to qualify for Europe this season, but their talented squad has failed to live up to the hype. They are down in 15th and part of the relegation battle. World Cup winner Sami Khedira has joined from Juventus to add experience in the center of the pitch. The 33-year-old played just 28 minutes in the whole of 2020 and will need a few weeks to get match fit.

This game is scheduled for Friday night because Bayern travel to Qatar this weekend. They will be in the Middle East competing in FIFA’s Club World Cup, where they will most likely meet Brazilian side Palmeiras in the final next Thursday.

Hansi Flick’s side will kick off Matchday 20 in the Bundesliga with a statement win by 2 or 3 goals.

The current Big 5 clubs in Germany at the moment are Bayern, Borussia Dortmund, Leipzig, Borussia Mönchengladbach, and Leverkusen. Schalke 04 have played these teams six times and lost every game by 3 goals or more. Nagelsmann’s side will do a number on them and leave with a comfortable win.

Prediction – 3 Units: Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig -1.5 Goals 2 Game Parlay +234 + 1 Unit: RB Leipzig -2.5 Goals +240

VfL Wolfsburg is on a 4 game winning streak with no goals conceded. Generally, they start well, and that is why they have scored the first goal in 8 of their last 10 games in all competitions. Oliver Glasner has his side well-disciplined, and Wout Weghorst is scoring goals for fun with 7 across those 10 games.

They missed out on Europa League this season after getting knocked out by AEK Athens in the final qualifying round. That disappointment has propelled them up the table to 3rd. Die Wölfe has a great opportunity to qualify for the Champions League, and Sports Books are pricing them at +130. Looking at their current form, I think that’s good value.

Wolfsburg will open the scoring and come away with the 3 points.

Prediction – 2 Units: VfL Wolfsburg to Score First and Win the Match Yes +104 + 2 Units: VfL Wolfsburg to Finish in the Top 4 +130
