Bundesliga Matchday 26 Betting Tips: FC Schalke 04 vs Borussia Mönchengladbach

Posted By Alex Blowers on March 19, 2021

OMG, Bayer Leverkusen!!! You had the simple task of beating Arminia Bielefeld at home, and they punked you on the counter twice. That 2-1 loss cost me 3.44 Units in my 3 game Money Line Parlay. RB Leipzig lost ground in the title race after Eintracht Frankfurt held them to a 1-1 draw. Mainz 05 held firm to beat SC Freiburg 1-0 and sink my Over 2.5 Goals bet.

Fortunately, I can always rely on FC Schalke 04 to make me money as they were thumped 5-0. Special thanks goes to Shkodran Mustafi (This man has a World Cup winners medal), whose own goal and mistake helped VfL Wolfsburg Win To Nil. That meant I finished the weekend down 2.46 Units.

I know there are 5 million reasons why Borussia Mönchengladbach has kept hold of Marco Rose, but this is starting to get ridiculous. Since the club announced he would be leaving for Borussia Dortmund in the summer, they have lost all 7 games. I understand the importance of the release clause money in this current financial climate, but couldn’t they put him on gardening leave or something?

The club is now 7 points off 6th, 11 points off 4th, and has no silverware left to play for. Star players Florian Neuhaus, Marcus Thuram, and Denis Zakaria have tasted the Champions League, and it will be difficult to keep them. If they don’t turnaround their form soon, this season will end up being a complete disaster.

Fortunately, they have the perfect opponent this weekend to snap their losing streak. No other club in Europe faces a bigger crisis than Schalke right now, who achieved a goal difference of -50 for the season (16 scored, 66 conceded) last weekend. I think Rose will inspire his players to a comfortable win over this Schalke side, who are destined for relegation and have very little left to play.

Back Gladbach to win by 2 or 3 goals.

Prediction – 2 Units: Borussia Mönchengladbach -1.5 Goals +135

Bayern Munich is scoring freely again, and Robert Lewandowski is looking like a man possessed trying to break Gerd Müller’s 40 goal record. VfB Stuttgart’s counter-attacking style and the pace of Silas Wamangituka will cause problems for their high defensive line.

Their last two encounters have resulted in Bayern winning, both teams scoring and over 3.5 goals. That has also been the case in Die Roten’s last 3 games in the Bundesliga which they have won 3-1, 4-2, and 5-1.

Hansi Flick’s side will win comfortably in a high-scoring game to maintain their 4 point lead at the top of the table.

Prediction – 2 Units: Parlay Both Teams To Score YES, Over 3.5 Goals and Bayern Munich Money Line +145

Even with Dayot Upamecano joining Angeliño on the sidelines, surely Leipzig can’t let me down 2 weeks in a row?

These two are big losses for Julian Nagelmann, but he has enough depth in his squad to get by. Dani Olmo and Christopher Nkunku should return to the starting lineup after being rested last weekend. Leipzig missed their creativity in the final third, and they will cause problems for Bielefeld all game.

Borussia Dortmund is peaking at just the right time. They’re into the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal, Quarterfinals of the Champions League, and narrowed Frankfurt’s lead in the Top 4 race down to 2 points. A piece of silverware and qualification for Europe’s top competition would be seen as a successful season and a job well done by Edin Terzić, who looked out of his depth back in mid-January.

They face FC Köln, who beat them 2-1 earlier in the season at Signal Iduna Park. The hero in that win was Ellyes Skhiri, who scored a near-identical brace converting two flick-ons from corners at the back post. It was a massive victory for The Billy Goats, and BVB sacked Lucien Favre 14 days later.

Leipzig will return to winning ways, and Dortmund will revenge their defeat from earlier in the season.

Prediction – 3 Units: RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund Money Line Parlay -107
