Bundesliga Matchday 30 Betting Tips: Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen

Posted By Alex Blowers on April 20, 2021

I made a slight loss of 0.321 Units on Matchday 29, with one of my three bets hitting.

I really thought RB Leipzig would take their chance on Friday night and beat TSG Hoffenheim to turn up the pressure on Bayern Munich. They were held to a dull 0-0 draw, and Hansi Flick’s side beat VfL Wolfsburg 3-2. 18-year-old Jamal Musiala stole the headlines after scoring a brace. Take some time to look him up. He’s an absolute gem of a player who will go on to great things in the game.

When these two met back in Matchday 13, it was a title clash. Bayer Leverkusen were unbeaten in their opening 12 games, and a point was all they needed to go into the winter break at the top of the table. Thirty seconds before the final whistle, a mistake at the back fell kindly for Robert Lewandowski, who scored via a deflection to get Bayern the 3 points and send them in to first.

Leverkusen returned in January an utterly different side picking up 4 points from a possible 18, and were dumped out of the DFB-Pokal by 4th tier side Rot-Weiß Essen. 8 points from the following seven games and a Europa League exit to Young Boys cost Peter Bosz his job during March’s international break.

The board turned to current Germany Under 18’s manager Hannes Wolf. He has turned things around with 7 points from his first three games, going with a three-man defense for all of them. He’ll likely stick with this formation and pack the midfield to frustrate Bayern. Moussa Diaby and Wendell have been playing as WBs in their last two games, and he will try to use their pace and width to get in behind Bayern’s high line.

Bayern’s exit from the Champions League last week means the only trophy they have left to play for is the Bundesliga. The reigning champions are natural-born winners, and there’s no way they are finishing this season without any silverware. They produced a big performance against Wolfsburg to restore their lead at the top to 7 points.

After the game, Hansi Flick announced he wishes to leave in the summer. Joachim Löw is stepping down after fifteen years as the German National Coach, and Flick is the favorite to take over. His 18-month spell has been nothing short of amazing, winning everything possible.

It’s clear he has developed a great bond with the players, and many have credited him with exceptional man-management skills. The players will want to give him a proper send-off, and we will see a classic, ruthless performance from them in this game.

Back Bayern to win comfortably by 2 or 3 goals.

Prediction – 2 Units: Bayern Munich -1.5 Goals +108

Eintracht Frankfurt will bounce back from Saturday’s disappointing 4-0 defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach with a big win here. The news that manager Adi Hütter is leaving for Gladbach in the summer came as a shock to everyone, including the players. Champions League football is within their grasp, and they will pull it together for the last five games and finish in the Top 4.

Their opponents FC Augsburg have very little left to play for. They are sitting in 11th, 7 points off the relegation zone, and 14 points off European qualification mean it’s a job well done by Heiko Herrlich securing midtable safety. In their last two games, they drew with Arminia Bielefeld 0-0 and lost to FC Schalke 04 1-0.

Put your money behind Frankfurt, winning by a few goals.

Prediction – 2 Units: Eintracht Frankfurt -1.5 Goals +120

I’ve made my case for Bayern above.

As for Leipzig, I refuse to believe that they will let me down two weeks in a row. Their opponents FC Köln haven’t won in nine games, losing seven and drawing twice. They’ve conceded 20 goals on this run and only scored 8. The Billy Goats look destined for the drop, and this should be an easy 3 points for Julian Nagelsmann’s side, who want to finish this season in second.

Prediction – 3 Units: Money Line Parlay Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig +100
