Championship Playoff Final: Brentford vs Fulham Odds, Game Time, Where to Watch

It’s the match with the most on the line (financially) each year: the Championship Playoff Final for promotion into the Premier League.

Each season, three teams are promoted from England’s second tier (Championship) into the Premier League. The top two spots earn automatic promotion. This year, those two teams are Leeds United and West Brom Albion.

Teams that finish in the 3-6 spots enter a playoff for the final promotion slot. After surviving the semifinals, Brentford will face Fulham with with a trip up to Premier League on the line.

When is the Championship Playoff Final?

The Championship Playoff Final between Brentford and Fulham takes place on Tuesday, August 4th at 2:45pm EST.

In the US, the match will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN+.

The match is played at Wembley in London.

Brentford vs Fulham odds

The Championship Playoff Final odds have Brentford priced as even-moneyish favorites:

Brentford +106 | Draw +220 | Fulham +275

About Brentford FC

Brentford finished 3rd in the Championship this season.

The club was founded in 1889. However, they’ve had little top tier success. Their best first division finish was a 5th place in 1935-36. Brentford has never actually been in the Premier League. Their last time in the top flight was 1947.

After financial hardships and takeovers, Brentford has climbed from League Two in 2007 to the Championship in 2014. They’re now on the precipice of top tier football again.

The squad is a fun counter-attacking side that led the Championship in goals this season with 80. They also tied Leeds for best goal differential.

It’s a mostly young team with key players entering their prime. Ollie Watkins (24) enjoyed a breakout season for the Bees, playing all 48 matches and netting 26 times. Saïd Benrahma (24) is Brentford’s best overall player, scoring 17 and adding 9 assists this season.

About Fulham FC

Fulham has a slightly more storied history than Brentford. However, the club has no top tier trophies.

American fans will remember Clint Dempsey starring as striker for the club a decade ago. And Fulham is only one season removed from top flight football. They last won promotion into the Premier League via a playoff final win in 2018.

The Cottagers finished 4th in the Championship. USMNT supporters will recognize defender Tim Ream on the squad. However, Fulham isn’t as dynamic as Brentford. They’re more of a “veteran-savvy” side. If they win promotion, it’ll most likely be from a bit of magic from Serbian forward Aleksandar Mitrovic (25). He scored 26 goals in 40 games this season.
