Already the youngest American to appear in the Bundesliga, Gio Reyna today became the youngest goalscorer in DFB Pokal Cup history. Reyna netted a brilliant strike in Borussia Dortmund‘s 3-2 Round of 16 loss to Josh Sargent’s Werder Bremen side.

The goal was just part of an assured performance from the young American. Fans of both Dortmund and the USMNT will be hoping that today’s golazo is just the first of many.

Video Gio Reyna’s First BVB Goal

Reyna just missed an equalizer earlier in the match. By the time he bagged his gorgeous goal in the 78th minute, the game had slipped out of reach for BVB. Go to the 5:20 mark in the embedded video for Reyna’s stunner.

ERLING BRAUT HAALAND continued to do what he does best as well, scoring yet another goal earlier in the match.
