Bundesliga 2020-21 Season Betting Plan

Posted By Alex Blowers on September 11, 2020

The 2020-21 Bundesliga season starts today.

Every matchday, I’ll be picking 3 games to write about & recommend a bet for each one. I’ll also have a Weekly Bayern Bet (explained below). I’ll aim to have my picks up by Wednesday.

The only guarantee I give is complete transparency. I’ll be keeping track of every bet I recommend here.

This season I’ll be starting off with $550 in my account. I’ll divide that by 55 to give me 55 units. 1 Unit equals $10 & each bet will be either 1, 2 ($20) or 3 ($30) Units depending on how strong I feel about them. 15 of my Units will go on the Futures Bets I’ve recommended below & the other 40 Units will be used for the Weekly Bets I recommend on High Press Soccer.

Let’s see where I’m at when the season ends. Will it be Cristal & Caviar or Miller Lite & Twinkies come the end of May?

Betting on Bayern Munich

THE WEEKLY BAYERN BET

Bayern’s treble is not the end but the start of something special. Leroy Sane has been added to the front line, Robert Lewandowski is still in pursuit of Gerd Müller’s 40 goal record & 7 of the first choice eleven are 25 or younger. If you want to make easy money back Hansi Flick’s team every week to win on the Money Line. Come the end of the season you’ll make money but I think I’ve found a more profitable bet to place on Die Roten.

Since the Bundesliga resumed May 16th Bayern have played 15 games across all competitions. If you backed Bayern to win Halftime / Fulltime you would have cashed 13 of them & the odds for this is always more valuable than the Money Line. The Champions like to start games quick & they never let up, pressing & attacking teams for the full 90 minutes. I’ll be backing Bayern on this every week at 1, 2 or 3 units depending on who they’re facing.

FUTURES BETS

Here are my future bets for the season. All of these lines can be found on DraftKings.

Bundesliga top 6

The experienced Bruno Labbadia done a great job at Hertha Berlin coming in during lock down. They finished the season with 4 wins, 1 draw & 4 losses & have added well this summer with Lucas Tousart the pick of the bunch. They are more than capable of finishing in the Top 6 & are a good bet at +200.
1 Unit – Hertha Berlin +200

Hoffenheim
are always a solid choice for the Top 6. Andrej Kramarić is arguably the 3rd best striker in the league behind Lewandowski & Haaland now Timo Werner & Kevin Volland have left. If they can keep him fit all season he’ll easily score 20 goals.
2 Units – Hoffenheim +200

Bundesliga teams to be relegated

FC Schalke were the worse team when the league restarted with 2 draws & 7 losses managing to score just 5 goals. One of their biggest prospects, USMNT Weston McKinney has moved onto Juventus & they’ve introduced a salary cap of 2.5 million Euro’s per player. This season will be tough for them & they asked their fans not to request refunds on their season tickets when lock down started. I’m getting Leeds United 2004 vibes when they were relegated from the Premier League. +1100 is amazing odds & it will be a long hard season for Die Knappen.
0.5 Units – FC Schalke +1100

Bundesliga total goals

Thomas Müller to score over 11.5 goals is a ridiculous opportunity. He finished last season with 8 goals in the Bundesliga but all of those came after Hansi Flick took over in early November. Müller’s playing some of the best football of his career.  I think this season could be one of his best.
2 Units – Thomas Müller Over 11.5 Goals +120

Dani Olmo will have a much bigger role to play at RB Leipzig with Timo Werner & Patrick Schick no longer on the books. He managed 3 goals last season in 9 starts & this season he’ll be a regular in the side.
2 Units – Dani Olmo Over 6.5 Goals -134

Bundesliga most assists

Jadon Sancho is the favorite here & I don’t know why. Thomas Müller finished last season with 21 assists to Sancho’s 16 & Manchester United are hanging around like a bad smell. We all saw back in January Ed Woodward diddle daddle over Bruno Fernandes before capturing him at the end of the transfer window. With this window extended till October 5th we could still see the England International move back home. That would leave Thomas Müller the out & out favorite & at plus +500 this another great opportunity.
1.5 Units – Thomas Müller +500

Bundesliga total assists

These are the easiest 2 bets I’ll make all season. Alphonso Davies hit 5 assists last season as he transformed from potential winger to one of the best LB’s in the game. Benjamin Pavard hit 4 assists as he also transitioned from CB to RB. Both start this season better & more experienced. Both of these will definitely cash.
3 Units – Alphonso Davies Over 4.5 Assists -155
3 Units –
Benjamin Pavard Over 3.5 Assists -118

FIXTURE DIFFICULTY RATING

For those of you new to the Bundesliga I’ve rated every sides fixture difficulty in respect to how the Sports Books rank their title winning odds. Of course this will definitely change with teams over & under performing but it gives you a good reference on what to expect from each side.

In the US, you can legally bet on soccer in New Jersey, Indiana and Pennsylvania.
