With the Thursday evening announcement that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has the coronavirus, the global football / soccer world is bracing itself for suspended or cancelled seasons.

The continuing of the Champions League is also in jeopardy, as UEFA has decided to suspend play.

Chelsea

  • Confirmed: Callum Hudson-Odoi

Everton

  • Quarantined: First team players are self-isolated.

Leicester City

  • Quarantined: Three first team players self-isolated following symptoms

Manchester City

  • Quarantined: Benjamin Mendy (self-isolated)

Premier League season coronavirus status

League officials met March 19th to determine if / how to continue season. They elected to extend the suspension all matches at least until April 30th. The Premier League may return on June 1st.

  • Quarantined: First team quarantined after Real Madrid basketball player tested positive for coronavirus

  • Confirmed: Ezequiel Garay
  • Confirmed: 35% of squad / staff reportedly test positive

La Liga announced that all matches are suspending indefinitely.
