Liverpool Fans Exhale as PSG Named Ligue 1 Champs

Posted By Chops on May 1, 2020

In 2020, basically other than staying healthy while you #stayhome, the only thing that matters in the world is that Liverpool win the Premier League title.

After the Eredivisie cancelled and voided its season, Liverpool supporters–and all human being on the planet, really–began to worry. Would Liverpool be denied its first ever EPL crown?

Then, it was announced that Ligue 1 would also be cancelling its season. If the season was voided and PSG denied another meaningless trophy, would a title wave of sentiment build around denying the Reds a title too?

PSG awarded Ligue 1 title

Nope.

France’s governing soccer body–the LFP–made the correct decision in awarding PSG the title. Setting what will likely be precedence for other major domestic leagues, the LFP went by a points-per-match average to determine placement.

As runner-up, Marseille earns automatic qualification to the Champions League. Rennes will enter the UCL qualification rounds.

Lille and Nice qualify for the Europa League.

Ligue 1 also relegated its bottom two teams, as Toulouse and Amiens go down to Ligue 2.

So this mean Liverpool will win the Premier League even if the season is cancelled?

It better fucking be the case, yes.
