Liverpool’s 9 Injured Players Would Basically Be the Best Team in England

The international break has not been kind to Liverpool.

Liverpool have a staggering 9 players who may potentially miss their upcoming match against league leaders Leicester.

Chalk some of it up to just bad luck. Chalk two of it up to Everton being dickless reckless scumbags. Chalk one of it up to COVID. Total it up, and you have possibly 9 starters out of the line-up.

Liverpool injured player list

The list of injured Reds (pulled from Premier Injuries) has the makings of one of the best teams in England. They are:

  • Andy Robertson (hamstring)
  • Fabinho (hamstring)
  • Thiago (knee)
  • Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (MCL)
  • Jordan Henderson (hamstring)
  • Joe Gomez (patella tendon rupture)
  • Virgil van Dijk (ACL)
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold (calf)
  • Mo Salah (COVID-19)

Of the above, Robertson, Thiago, Henderson and Salah all at least have some chance of recovering in time for Leicester. However, given the packed festive schedule coming up, don’t be surprised if Jurgen Klopp gives all of the players dealing with muscular issues more time to heal.

Simply put, the Reds can’t afford to lose anyone else.
