Premier League Betting 21/22: Matchday 06 Lines and Tips

Written By Alex Blowers on September 20, 2021

Matchday 06 brings us two massive fixtures. First, we have Manchester City against Chelsea. These two are big favorites for the Premier League title, and Pep Guardiola‘s side will want to avenge their UEFA Champions League final defeat. With home advantage, it will be interesting to see how Thomas Tuchel approaches this game.

Second, we have the North London Derby between Arsenal and Tottenham. Mikel Arteta‘s side are coming off a confidence-boosting battling win over Burnley whilst Spurs suffered a humbling 3-0 defeat to Chelsea. This has been one of the first fixtures many fans look for when the Premier League schedule is released, and hopefully, we’ll get another memorable edition.

If you’re unsure about what markets to bet on for these games, you can read on to see my tips and check out our Premier League Betting Guide.

Let’s take a look at the 2021-22 Premier League Matchday 06 Betting Lines and Tips.

PREMIER LEAGUE MATCHDAY 05 ROUNDUP

MANCHESTER CITY LUCKY TO GET A POINT

We saw more VAR controversy at The Etihad on Saturday. Kyle Walker gave away a penalty and was sent off for bringing down Adam Armstrong. The red was an error due to the double jeopardy rule (Can’t punish a team twice) that has been introduced. Jon Moss went to the VAR screen and made the bizarre decision to overturn his decision altogether.

Personally, I think it’s a stonewall penalty, and I feel sorry for Southampton. They were robbed of a great chance to record a famous victory against the Premier League champions.

MOHAMED SALAH HITS ANOTHER MILESTONE

Mohamed Salah scored his fourth goal of the season against Crystal Palace to make it five in six appearances this season. This goal was particularly special because it took him into the Top 10 of Liverpool‘s all-time goalscorers. It was also his 150th Premier League appearance putting him on 99 goals and 36 assists which is an incredible record.

No player in the league is in better form at the moment, and he’s looking a strong contender for this season’s Golden Boot award. I recommended Salah at the start of the season, and surprisingly his odds have stayed the same at +400 on DraftKings. Jump on him at this price now whilst you still can.

PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING TIPS

  • I’m backing Both Teams To Score YES and Over 2.5 Goals in the North London Derby. I’m hopeful this will be an end-to-end thriller despite Arteta and Nuno Espirito Santo‘s cautious approach.
  • I like Liverpool to Win in Shutout at +130 against Brentford. Jurgen Klopp‘s defense is back to full strength, and they’ve only conceded once this season so far in the Premier League.
  • Back Everton on the spread -1.5 Goals at +155 for their game against Norwich City. The Canaries have looked really poor in the opening games, and I think it’s going to be a long season resulting in relegation again.
  • I think Brighton is such good value at +155 on the Moneyline that it’s close to disrespectful. I know this is the M23 Derby and these two clubs have a big rivalry, but I think Graham Potter‘s team are the better side.
