The biggest fixture in Matchday 08 is between Leicester City and Manchester United. Brendan Rodgers‘ side have had a difficult start to the season, collecting just 8 points, and are very capable of kickstarting their season with a win over the Red Devils. If you’re unsure about what markets to bet on for this game, you can read on to see my tips and check out our Premier League Betting Guide.
Let’s take a look at the 2021-22 Premier League Matchday 08 Betting Lines and Tips.
PREMIER LEAGUE MATCHDAY 07 ROUNDUP
NEWCASTLE TAKEOVER COMPLETES
Over the last week, the biggest story in world football is Newcastle‘s takeover by a Saudi Arabian consortium. With a reported wealth of $434 billion, Newcastle are now backed by the wealthiest owners in Football, who have already stated their long-term goals are to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and win trophies.
The previous owner Mike Ashley has underinvested in Newcastle’s squad for the last several seasons, so we will see a lot of activity in the next few transfer windows.
As a Newcastle fan, I wrote about my reaction to the deal last week and did another piece on who I think will replace Steve Bruce as manager.
LIVERPOOL AND MANCHESTER CITY PLAY OUT A CLASSIC
Wow, what a game this was. In recent seasons, Liverpool and Manchester City have been the best two sides in the Premier League, and they played out an incredible 2-2 draw. Pep Guardiola‘s side controlled the opening 45 minutes with Phil Foden causing James Milner all sorts of problems. They were unable to find the breakthrough, and they went into half-time at 0-0.
Liverpool came out a different side in the second half and took control of the game thanks to Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian international was at his best, cutting through City’s defense with his mazy running to slip in Sadio Mané for Liverpool’s opener and score a contender for goal of the season.
Manchester City showed why they’re favorites to win the title by coming from behind twice to rescue a point. Foden and Kevin De Bruyne were the scorers, and in the end, a draw was a fair result.
CLAUDIO RANIERI RETURNS
Everyone’s favorite Italian manager is back in the Premier League. Claudio Ranieri, who guided Leicester City to their miracle title win in 2015/16, has been appointed Watford manager.
Ranieri becomes the club’s 14th manager in 10 years, and it’s a model that has served the Pozzo ownership well, getting them promoted to the EPL and keeping them in the league.

PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING TIPS
- Liverpool on the Spread -1.5 Goals at -105 is excellent value for their game against Watford. Ranieri will get the new manager bounce performance from his players, but I think Jurgen Klopp‘s side will win this one comfortably by two goals or more.
- I like Both Teams To Score Yes and Over 2.5 Goals at +100 for Leicester City vs. Manchester United. Both sides have only managed to keep one clean sheet each this season.
- Jump on Tottenham‘s Moneyline at +110. The new owners can’t bring any players in until January, and Steve Bruce is still in charge, which means they don’t have anyone lined up to replace him. All of that uncertainty could have a negative effect on the players.
