Premier League Betting 21/22: Matchday 20 Lines, Analysis and Tips

Written By Alex Blowers on December 27, 2021

Three games were postponed on Matchday 19, and two more have been canceled for Matchday 20 as Covid continues to ravage Premier League clubs. Liverpool vs. Leeds United, Wolves vs. Watford, Burnley vs. Everton, Arsenal vs. Wolves, and Leeds United vs. Aston Villa will all be played at a later date, raising concerns about the competition’s sporting integrity with some clubs facing fixture pile-ups later in the season.

Burnley are four games, and Tottenham and Watford are three games off the pace. Sean Dyche’s side were in a good run of form coming into the busy festive period with one win, five draws, and one loss. They last played on December 12th, and the disruption could have a massive impact on their chances of avoiding relegation.

Premier League Best and Worse Kits

DraftKings Top 4 Odds:

  • Manchester United -110
  • Arsenal +225
  • Tottenham +250
  • West Ham +1000

Since Mikel Arteta dropped Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang and stripped him of the captaincy Arsenal, have gone from strength to strength, winning five games straight, scoring 19, and conceding two. Fourteen of those goals have come in the Premier League, with Alexander Lacazette, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Ødegaard, Bukayo Saka, and Emile Smith Rowe scoring 12 of them.

This run of form has taken The Gunners into fourth with a six-point cushion. With no European football to distract them, they look like a solid choice to make the Top 4, but I have my doubts.

Tottenham and Manchester United can overtake them if they win their games in hand. Arsenal’s next seven Premier League fixtures include Manchester City, Tottenham, Wolves, Chelsea, and Liverpool. I think the table will look very different at the end of February and I’m going to put my money behind Spurs. You can see the effect Antonio Conte is having on the players, and they will continue to improve over the coming months.

We are days away from the January transfer window opening, and Ferran Torres is looking like the first major deal to go through. Barcelona and Manchester City have agreed a $62 million deal, despite the Catalan club being $1.1 billion in debt.

Premier League Betting: Matchday 20 Lines, Analysis and Tips

*Odds Taken from DraftKings Monday, December 27th, 8 AM EST

  • I’m all for people locking in their bets early to get the best price, but that’s potentially the worst thing you can do in the current climate. The best thing to do is wait till an hour before kickoff when the lineups are released to decide if you want to place your bet. Keep a close eye on each side’s team news, and if a star player is ruled out, you might be able to place a bet before the Sportsbooks can readjust their lines.
  • I’m all over Tottenham’s Moneyline at +105. Conte’s starting to get the best out of Harry Kane, who’s available at +120 to score anytime.
  • Newcastle Win or Draw in the Double Chance market is worth considering at -105. Everton have been hit hard with a Covid outbreak, and several key players are out injured.
