Premier League Betting 21/22: Midweek Betting Lines, Analysis and Tips

Written By Alex Blowers on February 21, 2022

Twenty-one fixtures were postponed during the busy festive period. Some for genuine Covid outbreaks and others due to clubs taking advantage of the Premier League‘s ambiguous rules around calling games off. That has left schedulers a backlog of matches to rearrange, and four of them will be played midweek.

This could very well end up being the game of the season.

Tottenham got off to a dream start taking the lead through Dejan Kulusevski after good linkup play between Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane. Manchester City controlled the rest of the first half and found their equalizer on 33 minutes when Hugo Lloris spilled the ball to ilkay Gündogan.

City continued to dominate the second half, but it was Spurs who retook the lead through Kane on 59 minutes. Antonio Conte’s side thought they had a 3-1 lead when Kane powered in Kulusevski’s cross 15 minutes later. VAR chalked the goal off for an offside in the buildup.

That set up a frantic finish, and City thought they had rescued a point in injury time when Riyad Mahrez converted a penalty awarded for a handball by Cristian Romero. The two VAR reviews added enough time to the clock for Kane to grab a winner and show City what they are missing up top.

Tottenham were priced at +1100 on the Moneyline to win this game. Anyone brave enough to back them collected a big and stressful profit.

If Liverpool beat Leeds United on Wednesday night City’s lead at the top will be down to three points with twelve games left to go.

Premier League Betting: Midweek Betting Lines, Analysis and Tips

*Odds Taken from DraftKings Sunday, February 20th, 3:10 PM EST

  • Tottenham sits seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester United with three games in hand. They should be able to beat relegation-threatened Burnley comfortably to close the gap to four points. The safe option is to back their Moneyline at -125. If you’re looking for better odds, consider them on the Spread -1.5 Goals at +245.
  • Under 2.5 Goals at -130 looks the way to go for Watford’s match against Crystal Palace. Both sides’ last four games have finished with two goals or less.
  • There’s no way Liverpool will pass up the opportunity to reduce Manchester City’s lead to three points. At -575 on the Moneyline, you’ll need to explore the Parlay or Same Game Parlay (SGP) markets to find value. The way Leeds United are leaking goals at the moment, a SGP of Halftime/Fulltime Liverpool/Liverpool and Over 2.5 Goals at -125 feels like a good option.
  • A win for Arsenal or Wolves will give their UEFA Champions League qualification hopes a massive boost, and it’s tough to predict how this game will go. Looking at the markets, Wolves to Win or Draw is excellent value at +140. Bruno Lage’s side are difficult to break down, and I can see them grinding out a 0-0 draw at The Emirates.
