The Premier League returns on June 17th!
While Liverpool have locked up the title, Premier League top 4 odds have some good value.
And one race that could get interesting is for the Golden Boot.
Jamie Vardy leads the EPL with 19 goals coming out of the break. He’s trailed by game-in-hand Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (17), also game-in-hand Sergio Aguero (16), and Mo Salah (16).
After that, with only 9 games to be played, the gap might be too big for anyone else to catch up. However, Danny Ings (15), Sadio Mane (14), and Marcus Rashford (14) all still have a chance for various reasons.
Here’s a look at Premier League Golden Boot odds.
Premier League Golden Boot Odds
Jamie Vardy +180 | Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang +350 | Sergio Aguero +450 |
Mo Salah +600 | Sadio Mane +1600 | Marcus Rashford +1600 |
Harry Kane +1800 | Danny Ings +2000 | Raul Jimenez +4000 |
Is here value?
Vardy is the favorite at +180 and should be. He’s got a two and three goal lead, respectively, over Aub and Aguero (albeit both with a game-in-hand). Vardy should also play most of the remaining fixtures, as Leicester will look to secure their top 4 Champions League birth.
However, even after a cool-off towards the break, Vardy was finishing at an unsustainable clip. He could top out around 22-23, leaving room for someone to catch up.
The most likely candidate would be Aubameyang. Arsenal will lean on him in all remaining games as they fight for European competition. A home match against Norwich on July 1st could provide the boost he needs to claim his second Golden Boot.
After Vardy and Aubameyang, it gets trickier.
Aguero is the best striker in the EPL, but he won’t play all of the matches and is oft-injured. Salah is the most likely to go on a heater. However, will Klopp push the Reds to break the points record? Or take his foot off the gas once they clinch the league?
Danny Ings at +2000 is interesting value. Southampton have no reason not to play him and they face Norwich, Arsenal, and Watford coming out of the break. All three of those matches offer potential for goals as all three are in the bottom half of the league for xGA.
