Premier League Matchday 12 Betting Tips: Manchester Derby

Posted By Alex Blowers on December 10, 2020

Matchday 11 was a stressful round of picks!!!!

Three minutes into Burnley VS Everton and Jordan Pickford gets beaten from distance again. To be fair to Robbie Brady, it was a great strike. But, the England goalkeeper has been beaten from outside the box 5 times this season, more than any other keeper.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalized before halftime. The Toffees pushed for a winner in the second half but couldn’t find it. This put me at 8 Units down & I was fearing another weekend of bad picks.

I was 90 seconds away from being 10 Units down & ready to give this game up lol. Chelsea vs Leeds was the entertaining game I predicted. But, as the game entered stoppage time the scoreline was one short of being Over 3.5 Goals & I was asking myself, how is this possible?

There were so many missed chances in this game & it was a frustrating watch. Then, on the 93rd minute the majestic Timo Werner broke free & squared a sublime ball to the almighty Christian Pulišić who made it 3-1. I was still down but it was reduced to -5.3 Units.

Going into this game I felt really confident about Tottenham. I picked them up at +275 for -1.5 Goals & that’s ridiculous value against this struggling Arsenal side. Heung-Min Son & Harry Kane combined twice to get Spurs the 2-0 win & these two are the best forward partnership in the game right now.

I made 5.5 Units off this game which puts me $2.40 in the green.

It’s Thursday night football for the comeback chumps. You can get away with giving West Ham & Southampton a 2-0 head start but not RB Leipzig. The two goals Manchester United scored were through blind luck (Shock) & not quality. Mason Greenwood went down very easily for the penalty & Harry Maguire handled the second.

I’ve never rated Ole Gunnar Solksjaer & I’m genuinely surprised he has lasted this long. Especially with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino & Max Allegri available. This Champions League exit & Mino Raiola’s comments about Paul Pogba’s career at Manchester United being ‘over’, is the beginning of the end.

Scoring goals has been an issue this season for The Citizens but Sergio Agüero will change all of that. The club legend came off the bench to score in their 3-0 win over Olympique de Marseille & will definitely feature at Old Trafford.

Pep Guardiola’s side will get a convincing win here to turn the pressure up on OGS & confirm that Manchester is Blue.

Prediction – 2 Units: Manchester City -1.5 Goals +210

I reached out to our Manchester United expert Uttiyo Sarker for his take on the game. He agrees Manchester City has the edge but thinks there is value in the Draw at +300.

Newcastle have had a difficult ten days after a COVID-19 outbreak at their Training Center forced them to postpone last weeks fixture against Aston Villa. Steve Bruce’s preparations have been severely disrupted & players who tested negative only started training together on Tuesday.

West Brom’s last outing is one to forget. Conor Gallagher cancelled out Darnell Furlong’s own goal, only for Matheus Pereira to get himself sent off 4 minutes later for violent conduct. Roy Hodgson’s side dominated the second half & you know it’s a bad day if Christian Benteke scores a brace against you.

There were doubts whether this game would go ahead & Newcastle haven’t identified which players tested positive or how many. Unconfirmed reports suggest it could be as high as double figures. The Magpies have enough players available to field a team but I think there will be some key players missing.

Slaven Bilić’s side are in a good position to get something out of this game.

Prediction – 2 Units: West Brom or the Draw -137

Thankfully Raúl Jiménez was released from hospital this week after fracturing his skull against Arsenal & we all wish him a speedy recovery. His absence against Liverpool highlighted how much they depend on his leadership & experience.

At 29 years old the Mexican international is their oldest forward player with Daniel Podence next at 25. Adama Traoré is 24, Pedro Neto 21, Renat Dadasov 21 & Fábio Silva 18. All of these players have quality but, Jiménez is the one who links it all together & knows how to lead the line.

After a brilliant start to the season, Aston Villa’s form has struggled recently with four defeats in their last five games. They have been blessed with two weeks of rest after Newcastle’s COVID-19 outbreak & I think it will do them the world of good.

Dean Smith confirmed that Ross Barkley will be out for this game & he will be missed. I think the front four of Jack Grealish, Ollie Watkins, Trezeguet & Bertrand Traoré are more than capable of getting Villa the 3 points.

Prediction – 1 Unit: Aston Villa Money Line +220
