Premier League Matchday 13 Betting Tips

I ended Matchday 12 down 1.8 Units.

The weekend started off well with Aston Villa getting the win over Wolves. Douglis Luiz was sent off in the 85th minute but that didn’t stop them believing. In stoppage time John McGill got the better of Nélson Semedo to win the penalty & Anwar El Ghazi slotted it away with ease.

Steve Bruce is a crafty character. In the lead up to this game he led everyone to believe that the COVID-19 outbreak had really impacted his squad. He said he was ‘without a big chunk of players’ & had “70% of the team that played against Crystal Palace available”.

The only two players missing from the starting lineup were Federico Fernández & Javier Manquillo with Jeff Hendrick starting on the bench. Darnell Furlong scored a stunning equalizer & I thought West Brom would see out this game 1-1. Dwight Gayle had other ideas & scored a bullet header to get Newcastle the 3 points.

The pre & post match coverage was the only entertaining thing about the Manchester Derby. I really thought Manchester City were starting to find their attacking rhythm & Sergio Aguero would spark their front line into life. Surprisingly, the Argentinian wasn’t involved at all & Pep Guardiola told us why after the game. “He’s ready. Today it was Gastroenteritis, yesterday he didn’t feel good”.

Seriously? Can we please get this man a chef or subscribed to a meal prep service!

Props to our Manchester United expert Uttiyo Sarker for recommending the Draw at +300.

First & second meet for this top of the table clash. Their records are almost identical with goal difference the only thing separating them.

Liverpool went into their game against Fulham knowing a win would put them top. They started slow & looked like they weren’t up for it. Joel Matip was forced off at halftime with a back injury. There’s a possibility Jurgen Klopp goes into this game with no fit center-backs available to him.

Jordan Henderson partnered Fabinho for the second half & we could be seeing these two up against Harry Kane on Wednesday. The match ended 1-1 thanks to Alisson who is back from injury. The Brazilian shot stopper played really well, keeping them in the game at times.

Tottenham Hotspur played well & were unfortunate to drop points away at Crystal Palace. Goalkeeper Vicente Guaita produced an inspired performance, pulling off some magnificent stops. He saved his best for last to keep out Eric Dier’s free kick in stoppage time.

Rarely do these games live up to the hype. I think Liverpool will be more cautious due to their injury issues & Jose Mourinho’s number one priority will be to not lose.

Prediction –  2 Units: Under 2.5 Goals +128

Can things get any worse for Arsenal?

Fans returned to The Emirates. It was a miserable experience. Granit Xhaka reacted petulantly to his own foul & was sent off for violent conduct. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finally scored in open play with an own goal to give Burnley a 1-0 win.

The pressure is increasing on Mikel Arteta with this, his fourth straight defeat at home. Some fans left early even though it was the first time they were allowed back in the stadium for nine months. Reports are circulating that some of the senior players are unhappy with his criticism of Nicolas Pépé for getting sent off against Leeds. Personally, I’m with Arteta here & he was right to call out the Ivorian for letting the team down.

Danny Ings returned to the starting lineup & it was an easy 3-0 win for Southampton against Sheffield United. Che Adams is starting to establish himself in the Premier League with 4 goals & 2 assists in his last eight games. Everything’s going well for Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side & he has been linked with the Borussia Dortmund job. Lucian Favre was fired on Sunday but I don’t think he’s someone who would leave a club mid season.

This line is so off. Southampton are 4th in the league with 23 points & playing well. Arsenal are in a world of trouble down in 15th on 13 points. Their recent form is terrible with 1 draw, 4 losses & 1 goal scored in the last five games.

I’m backing The Saints all day.

Prediction – 2 Units: Southampton Money Line +230

We saw Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham & Manchester City all drop points this past weekend. Sheffield United beating Manchester United would be the most Premier League thing to happen right now. Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side have struggled to play with intensity against weaker opposition & The Blades are bottom of the table without a win yet.

I have a feeling Chris Wilder’s side can cause an upset.

Prediction – 0.5 Units: Sheffield United +575
