Premier League Matchday 15 + 16 Betting Tips

Posted By Alex Blowers on December 24, 2020

For this post I am combining Matchday’s 15 & 16. All 20 fixtures take place over a 5 day period (December 26th-30th) with Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Everton & Manchester City having just a days rest between their games.

Matchday 14 was a beautiful weekend!!! It was my first clean sweep in the Premier League with both bets hitting for 5.34 Units of profit!!!

Everton beat Arsenal 2-1 to continue their return to form. It’s three wins in a row for Carlo Ancelotti’s side & I bet they couldn’t believe their luck when they saw The Gunners team sheet. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was absent with a tight calf alongside Gabriel, Thomas Partey & Granit Xhaka.

Yerry Mina grabbed the winner on the stroke of halftime. The Colombian international beat everyone at the front post to head in Gylfi Sigurdsson’s corner. Everton shut up shop in the second half & conceded possession. Arsenal saw 69% of the ball but failed to register any of their 10 attempts on target.

Rumors are circulating that Mikel Arteta has lost the dressing room & been given 3 games to save his job. That was before they lost 4-1 at home to Manchester City in the EFL Cup. If they let him go who do they turn to? Massimiliano Allegri? Patrick Viera? Xavi?

Call me a romanticist, but, I would love to see Arséne Wenger come back till the end of the season for one last dance. Worry about finding someone permanent in the summer.

Declan Rice’s goal was just offside & Jarrod Bowen’s goal was harshly ruled out for a trip on Thiago Silva. As they say in football, “Decisions even themselves out over the course of a season” & it was nice to be on the right side of one after some tough beats in recent weeks. Tammy Abraham wrapped up the 3 points with a quickfire brace in the 78th & 80th minute which helps his case for starting ahead of Olivier Giroud.

Arteta’s days are looking numbered & the Arsenal players confidence is rock bottom. In this moment I don’t think they are capable of producing the required performance to get anything out of this game.

Chelsea are past their blip & I’m confident they’ll get the 3 points here.

Timo Werner’s goal drought has extended to 630 minutes & 5 of his shots have hit the crossbar this season. Frank Lampard isn’t worried & neither am I. People’s expectations of players are so unrealistic nowadays & they are very quick to judge & write them off.

I’m a big fan of Werner & backing him to get on the scoresheet.

Prediction – 2 Units: Chelsea Money Line -108

Bonus Play – 1 Unit: Timo Werner to Score +180

Wolves strength is hitting teams on the counter. We saw against Chelsea how quick they transition from defense to attack with Pedro Neto’s winner in the 95th minute. In their next fixture they lost against Burnley who are a strong defensive side, that plays deep & rarely leave themselves open to the counter.

We know exactly how José Mourinho will setup. A flat back four with Moussa Sissoko & Pierre-Emile Højbjerg sitting deep protecting them. This game will be won by the side who can breakdown their opponents low block. Every day of the week I’m putting my money behind  Harry Kane, Heung-Min SonSteven Bergwijn & Tanguy Ndombélé over Adama Traoré, Daniel Prodence, Pedro Neto & Fábio Silva.

Back Spurs to get the 3 points here.

Prediction – 2 Units: Tottenham Hotspur Money Line +112

Sheffield United were so close to winning their first game of the season. Even with John Lundstram dismissed on 40 minutes, The Blades went ahead with debutante Jayden Bogle scoring via a deflection. Graham Potter turned to “Dat Guy Welbz” & he grabbed the equalizer in the 87th minute.

Sheffield United put a lot into this game & will be disappointed they couldn’t see out the win. It seems that Chris Wilder’s side can’t catch a break & they face an in form Everton side next. Carlo Ancelotti’s team are in a good moment & they will extend their winning run to 4 games with a strong performance here.

Prediction – 1 Unit: Everton -1.5 Goals +260

I fully expect the Betting Lines to change as Sports Books react to injuries, suspensions & results from Matchday 15.

These two sides produced one of the greatest games in Premier League history. A 4-3 end-to-end thriller back on April 3rd 1996.

Steve Bruce has a mini crisis on his hands. Two of his best players, Jamaal Lascelles & Allan Saint-Maximin are struggling to recover from COVID-19 & it is unknown when they will return. His side & the fans will be extremely disappointed after getting knocked out of the EFL Cup quarterfinals by Championship side Brentford.

Newcastle have 18 points on the board & with 75 more to play for, should stay up. It will be from wins & draws against relegation rivals & mid table sides, not the league’s best. Jurgen Klopp’s side look to be past their injury crisis with players returning & Fabinho excelling in the center of defense.

Back Liverpool to win comfortably by 2 or 3 goals.

Prediction – 2 Units: Liverpool -1.5 Goals -107

Marcelo Bielsa & Sam Allardyce are in completely opposite moments of their managerial reigns.

Big Sam is days into the job & will be prioritizing improving the back line. He laid out his blueprint for Premier League Survival in an appearance on Sky Sports Monday Night Football back in September 2017. One of the things Allardyce preaches to his players, is the importance of not giving the ball away in their own half. If under pressure, they are instructed to take a safety-first approach.

El Loco is in his third season. Two things we are guaranteed from a Leeds performance is hard work & a high intense press. I think this will force West Brom into mistakes, with the players caught in two minds as they adjust their natural game to Allardyce’s style.

It’s too early to see any return on Big Sam’s work. Leeds get the win here.

Prediction – 2 Units: Leeds United Money Line -106

Four of the last seven times these two have met has finished over 3.5 Goals. Three of those four occasions took place at Goodison Park. Throw in the unpredictability of this festive period, a days rest, quality of each sides forward lines & I think we’re in for a Christmas goals fest.

Prediction – 1 Unit: Over 3.5 Goals +163
