The Premier League schedulers have split Matchday 18 into two parts. We have 5 fixtures this week plus the rescheduled Burnley VS Manchester United from Matchday 1. The other 5 fixtures take place next week plus the rescheduled Manchester City VS Aston Villa, which is also from Matchday 1.
Manchester United have the opportunity to go top of the table. All they need to do is not lose on Tuesday night away at Turf Moor. We will all be hoping Burnley get the 3 points to prevent this travesty from happening.

ASTON VILLA ROCKED BY COVID
Aston Villa is the latest side to have a COVID-19 outbreak with the entire first-team bubble being placed in isolation. There’s a possibility their Wednesday fixture against Tottenham Hotspur will be postponed. Villa revealing the news “a large number of first-team players and staff returned positive tests”. These positive cases will have to quarantine for a minimum of 10 days.
For Friday evening’s FA Cup game against Liverpool, Dean Smith handed the reigns over to Under-23 manager Mark Delaney. He patched a team together from the Under-18’s & Under-23’s. Hats off to Jurgen Klopp who showed respect to Villa & the competition by fielding a strong starting eleven.
17-year-old Louie Barry made it a night to remember. The 5’9″ striker showed great strength to outmuscle 6’6″ Rhys Williams for his goal & send this young side into jubilant celebrations. Barry was on Barcelona’s books for a year before joining Villa in a £800k deal last June.
Liverpool went onto win 4-1 but the kids did Villa proud.
JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Sébastien Haller is the first high profile transfer of the January window. He completed a £20 million move to Ajax signing a four-and-a-half year deal.
David Moyes basically said the offer was too good to turn down but The Irons paid £45 million for him. Everyone’s feeling the pinch from COVID, but recuperating less than half what you paid for a player 18 months ago doesn’t sound like good business.

“We got an offer [for Haller], we didn't expect him to go but we got a good offer.
It wasn't planned but it was the right thing to do and it is a good move for Haller.”⚒ #WHUFCSC #COYI

PREMIER LEAGUE MATCHDAY 18 BETTING LINES
ODDS & ENDS
- We know Villa have a number of first-team players who are self-isolating for at least 10 days. It’s possible they play their Under-18’s & Under-23’s again. Back Tottenham -186 now before these lines change.
- I have to back Burnley +650. Ole Gunnar Solksjaer can’t be allowed to go top.
- Everton has 3 wins & 1 draw in their last 4 away matches. They look good at +200.
