Matchday 17 should have been a clean sweep. Although there’s contact from Douglas Luiz, I still think it’s a very, very, very soft penalty & this fixture should have finished in a draw. Aston Villa deserved something out of the game. Manchester United was lucky again to get the 3 points.
Starting with Man United's penalty against Aston Villa. Match of the Day covered this perfectly.

The crucial point is that Pogba did not trip himself over, it was the result of contact from Douglas Luiz.
And when the VAR sees this contact, there is no chance of an overturn. pic.twitter.com/HO8QyX81p7
Despite that setback, I finished the weekend with 4.9 Units of profit.
Manchester City blitzed Chelsea to run out 3-1 winners for my -1.5 goals bet to cash. It looks like Pep Guardiola’s side are finding their rhythm at the right time to mount a serious title challenge.
This was Chelsea’s fourth loss in their last six & the pressure is really starting to mount on Frank Lampard. Rumors are circulating Thomas Tuchel is being lined up as a replacement if their poor form continues & is renowned for his tactical nous. He would be capable of integrating Kai Havertz into the starting eleven & getting the best out of him. Tuchel has experience managing big personalities & stars from his stints at Borussia Dortmund & PSG.
My goodness, what a counter attack from City đ„

Arsenal has won 3 in a row & is now 6 points off the Top 4. The Gunners played some lovely stuff to pump West Brom 4-0 for my win to nil bet to hit. The pressure is definitely off Mikel Arteta & he will be a better manager for the experience. We have to remember this is his first managerial position & he is constantly learning on the job.
Sam Allardyce must be questioning his decision to take the West Brom hot seat. His record of never been relegated from the Premier League is under serious threat & I wonder if he will see out the season. Robert Snodgrass has joined the cause & Big Sam will sign a few more experienced players before the January Transfer Window closes.
What a lovely team goal from Arsenal đ pic.twitter.com/2UQVc0BpEk

ASTON VILLA VS TOTTENHAM
Jose Mourinho is preparing for this game to go ahead despite Aston Villa’s Coronavirus outbreak. He said it would be “completely impossible” for another one of their games to be canceled. They already have to reschedule their fixture with Fulham from December 30th after it was delayed due to COVID in the Cottagers’ squad.
It looks like Dele Alli has been welcomed back into the fold. He played a starring role in Spurs’ 5-0 victory over 8th tier amateur side Marine FC in the FA Cup. Mourinho was full of praise, saying, “the professionalism and attitude and I am thrilled with it” & “I will not be surprised if next Wednesday Dele is playing with us.”
This effectively quashes the speculation of him reuniting with Mauricio Pochettino at PSG. Check out all the latest January Transfer Rumors & Done Deals Here.

It looks like Aston Villa feel the same & are trying their best to fulfill the fixture. Two of their games have already been rescheduled this season, with one taking place next week against Manchester City. They are still waiting for the date of their game against Newcastle, which was also canceled due to a COVID outbreak in The Magpies squad.
Villa have been cooperating w/ PL to fulfill Wednesday's fixture with Spurs following 9 confirmed cases amongst playing squad. Further tests have been carried out over the weekend. Mourinho expects game to go ahead but biggest issue is #avfc being unable to prepare properly.

Aston Villa will be missing players & it’s likely we’ll see some of the youngsters from Friday night’s loss against Liverpool. Back Tottenham to get the 3 points.
Prediction – 3 Units: Tottenham Money Line -205
WOLVES VS EVERTON
Wolves have recalled Patrick Cutrone from his 18-month loan spell at Fiorentina to fill the void left by JimĂ©nezâs injury. Nuno EspĂrato Santo will be hoping he can bring a bit more experience & leadership to the frontline. It may take some time for him to hit form, as he didn’t start a single Serie A game this season.
Adama Traoré scored a cracking goal in Wolves 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace, as they progressed to the 4th Round of the FA Cup. That brought an end to his 13-month/39 game goal drought in all domestic competitions. He managed just 1 goal in 2020, which was against Espanyol in the Europa League.

Everton labored to a 2-1 win over Rotherham in the FA Cup. Carlo Ancelotti went with a strong starting eleven but could not get the job done in 90 minutes. Abdoulaye DoucourĂ© got the winner 3 minutes into extra time after James RodrĂgruez slipped him in. Lucas Digne started this game after recovering from an ankle injury that’s kept him out for the last 2 months. They have missed the quality of his set-pieces & Ancelotti will want him back to full fitness ASAP.

I find it difficult to separate these two sides. Looking back at their recent fixtures, they have both scored in three of the last four & that’s what I’m recommending here.
Prediction – 2 Units: Both Teams To Score -110
BURNLEY VS MANCHESTER UNITED
This bet is based purely on hope. The only thing standing in the way of Manchester United from going top of the league is Burnley. I’m backing Sean Dyche’s side to get the 3 points & prevent this travesty from happening.
Prediction – 0.5 Units: Burnley Money Line +600
