We’re almost at the halfway point & it’s looking like we’re in for one of the best title races in years. Six points separate the Top 6. Manchester United travel to Anfield on Sunday to face arch-rivals Liverpool.
SHEFFIELD UNITED WIN!!!!!
On the 18th attempt, Sheffield United have their first win of the season. It’s very fitting that club legend Billy Sharp scored the winning goal & his 100th for The Blades. The 34-year-old broke into their first-team back in 2004-05 & they resigned him twice in 2007 & 2015. Sharp scored 87 goals between 2015-2019 to lift Sheffield United from League 1 to the Premier League.
They are 9 points from safety & I don’t see them getting much from their next 5 games. They face Tottenham, Manchester United, Manchester City, West Brom & Chelsea. There will be 15 games left to play after this run & I think it’s safe to say Chris Wilder & his side are done for.

NEWCASTLE’S POOR FORM CONTINUES
Serious pressure is starting to mount on Steve Bruce & the fans are losing patience. Their last win was a 2-1 victory over West Brom on the 12th of December. Since then, The Magpies have lost 7 & drawn 1 in all competitions scoring just one goal in their last 6 matches.
They were dumped out of the EFL Cup Quarterfinals by Championship side Brentford & lost to Arsenal 2-0 in the FA Cup 3rd Round. 7 points clear of the relegation zone, it’s looking like another season of midtable mediocrity at best.
There’s no money for transfers available as Mike Ashley takes the EPL to court over the failed Saudi Arabia takeover. Bruce’s job will be safe as long as Newcastle’s Premier League status doesn’t come under serious threat. That’s all Ashley cares about so he can keep the club’s value up & recuperate his investment when he finally sells.
Bruce has been without Allan Saint-Maximin during this poor run of form. The explosive winger is still struggling to recover from COVID-19, which is extremely worrying. One positive is goalkeeper Karl Darlow who has been in excellent form. His heroics have kept the scorelines respectable in recent weeks.

- Everton is good value at -115. The COVID-19 outbreak at Aston Villa has had a big impact on their preparations & players will be missing.
