Premier League Matchday 32 Betting Tips: Newcastle vs West Ham

Posted By Alex Blowers on April 16, 2021

Matchday 31 was a good weekend, with two of my three bets hitting.

Tottenham failed to beat Manchester United, but my Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams To Score YES Parlay did hit. Spurs took the lead through Heung-Min Son and then failed to hold onto the lead as Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side came from behind again to win 3-1.

Jurgen Klopp’s side also came from behind to beat Aston Villa 2-1, which cashed my Liverpool Money Line and Over 2.5 Goals Parlay. I thought it was a loss, but Trent Alexander-Arnold popped up in the 91st to score the winner.

In recent weeks, all the talk around Trent has been whether the England manager Gareth Southgate will or won’t select him for the Euro’s this summer. In my opinion, he should be one of the first names down, especially if you’re taking three right-backs. He’s one of the best crossers in the game and has invaluable experience at the pinnacle of the game, playing in two Champions League finals and the Premier League week in week out.

Overall, I’m up 3.42 Units for the weekend and confident I will finish the season with a decent profit.

Some people think it’s bad luck to bet on your team and others think it’s bad luck to bet against them. If you support Newcastle like me, it’s pretty safe to say neither rule applies.

Things are looking up on Tyneside with 4 points from their last two games and Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin returning from injury. The Magpies have opened up a 6 point gap over Fulham, and it looks like Steve Bruce will meet Mike Ashley’s target for the season. Don’t get relegated.

For Matchday 32, they welcome an in-form West Ham to St. James Park. Injuries to key players Declan Rice and Michael Antonio didn’t stop them from beating their Top 4 rivals Leicester City last weekend 3-2. Jesse Lingard stepped up in their absence to score a brace and inspire The Hammers to victory. The Manchester United loanee is playing the best football of his career with 8 goals and 3 assists in 9 games.

David Moyes has done a marvelous job to mold West Ham’s collection of talented individuals into a decent side. I would love to see a manager like him come to Newcastle and be given the time and resources to turn us around. Unfortunately, we’re going to be stuck with Bruce for the foreseeable future unless we get relegated or taken over.

Back West Ham to get the 3 points.

Prediction – 3 Units: West Ham Money Line +108

The Premier League title race is looking a little less of a formality than many expected. If Manchester United wins their game in hand, the gap will be down to 8 points with 6 games left to play. That will raise the pressure on Manchester City, who are now entering the most crucial part of their season.

Over the next 19 days, Pep Guardiola’s side faces Chelsea in an FA Cup Semi-final, Tottenham in a League Cup Final, and PSG in a Champions League Semi-final. We will know for sure by May 4th if they’re still in the running for the Quadruple or not.

With so many big games coming up, it’s easy to think they will be distracted. But, if you’ve watched City’s Amazon documentary, you know how intense Guardiola can be, and he will make sure his players are fully prepared and focused for every match. In their celebrations after beating Borussia Dortmund, we saw a real togetherness and belief among this squad that they can beat anyone and achieve something very special this season.

Next Wednesday, they play Aston Villa who have struggled since they lost their talisman Jack Grealish to a shin injury in mid-February, picking up 8 points from a possible 24. He was expected to make a quick recovery, but a reoccurrence in training has prolonged his absence, and I doubt he will feature in this game. The club had more bad luck with Trezeguet rupturing his ACL against Liverpool last weekend. The Egyptian international has undergone surgery and is expected to be out for at least 6 months.

Manchester City are too experienced to let Manchester United catch them and turn up the pressure. Back them to win comfortably as they try to wrap up the title early to focus on the Quadruple.

Prediction – 2 Units: Manchester City -1.5 Goals +112
