Serie A is the top level of the Italian football system. The league features 20 clubs with the sides playing each other twice (19 at home and 19 away) from August to May for a total of 380 games. The league normally takes a two-week winter break for Christmas and New Year.

Teams are awarded 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and none for a defeat. The team with the most points at the end of the season are awarded the Scudetto and the Coppa Campioni d’Italia. The three teams who finish with the least amount of points are relegated to Serie B.

Those teams are replaced by three teams promoted from Serie B. The two teams who finish first and second and the team who wins the end-of-season playoffs.

WHERE CAN I STREAM SERIE A?

This season’s Serie A will run from August 22nd, 2021, to May 22nd, 2022. This year’s winter break is scheduled to take place from 22nd December 2021 to 6th January 2022. CBS owns the TV rights and will be streaming the majority of the 380 games live on Paramount+.

As part of the deal, CBS will broadcast a select number of games live on US television each season.
