Tottenham vs Manchester United Betting Preview (January 13, 2019)

The weekend’s biggest Premier League clash is Sunday’s match-up between Tottenham HotSpur vs. Manchester United at Wembley.

Given Manchester United’s resurgence under Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and Tottenham’s general good form on offense all season, we expect this to be an entertaining, high-scoring fixture. Here’s a look at some key bets.

Tottenham vs. Manchester United Betting Odds

Odds to Win Odds to Draw Odds to Win
Tottenham: 21/20 Final to end as Tie: 13/5 Manchester United: 5/2

Spurs whipped United 3-0 earlier this season at Old Trafford, but again, this is a different team since sacking José Mourinho. Too much is being made of United’s recent successful run being against bottom-of-table teams. So what. They weren’t winning those games (at least by those margins) in 2018. United is playing free, fun soccer. Spurs have struggled against high-scoring teams at home this Premier League season, losing to Liverpool, Manchester City, and Liverpool Light Wolverhampton.

However, their backline is still leaky, and the Spurs can score.

Expect a wild game, with Spurs winning by a goal.

The pick: Tottenham 21/20

And if you’re feeling adventurous, grab the over of 5.5 goals at 8/1.

Tottenham vs. Manchester United Prop Bets

So we think this will be high-scoring. What are some props to consider for this game?

Much has been made of this being Son Heung-Min‘s final game before heading off to the Asia Cup. Whether or not that leads to an inspired performance we don’t know. What we do know is Son has been ON FIRE lately. He’s scored 9 times in 11 games across all competitions. Considering United’s backline, 15/8 is a good price on Son to find the back of the net.

While Harry Kane‘s 4/5 to score isn’t necessarily a good price, he is Harry Kane, and he does score often. If we think the game will produce a lot of goals, then Harry Kane’s foot should be at the end of one.

On the United side, Marcus Rashford has been elevated to United’s first choice striker post-Mou. In his past eight games, the 21 year-old has 4 goals and 5 assists. Take a flier on the kid to score at 5/2.
